HOW TO REACH HOI AN
- Flight - First, travelers arriving in Hoi An by air usually fly into Da Nang International Airport (see our complete guide to Da Nang International Airport, just 29.5 km from Hoi An). Then enjoy an easy transfer from Da Nang Airport to your hotel in Hoi An.
- Road - Another best way for tourists to reach Hoi An is the bus and private taxi services available from most nearby train stations and airports. Private and public buses run daily to and from Hoi An. Its high frequency makes it perfect for foreign tourists who want to explore the sights and sounds of Hoi An.
- Rail - As it does not have its own train station, visitors wishing to go to Hoi An must get off at Da Nang Railway Station, which is approximately 50 minutes (30 km) away. Visitors can choose from several bus, taxi, and private vehicle options. Plus, with frequent trains from most other major cities in and around Vietnam, this is one of the best ways to get there. Da Nang Train Station is huge and has a number of different facilities to help visitors smoothly travel to Hoi An.
HOW TO GET AROUND
- Motorbike - This is the most convenient method. You can have the rental company bring your bike to the airport. Remember to check your vehicle carefully before renting it to avoid unnecessary collisions.
- Taxi - All you have to do is prepare the app on your smartphone before your trip. The main drawback to consider is that these apps require an internet or data connection. Additionally, Grab accepts credit card payments.
- Rental - If you would like to take a day trip outside of Hoi An or a specific tourist attraction, please ask your accommodation if they can arrange a private car for you.
- Bus - It is also convenient to travel between Hoi An and Hanoi locations by bus. Buses are the cheapest way to travel, but they take a little longer and require more effort (travel and waiting for the bus) than other modes.
