Euphrasian Basilica

The most important cultural landmark in Porec. It was constructed in the first half of the sixth century, during the reign of Bishop Euphrasius, who gave it its name, on the foundations of an earlier tri-naval basilica. Daily visits are available to visitors, with the exception of religious ceremonies. One can ascend the steeple to get a view of Pore and its surroundings. The UNESCO organization recognized the Euphrasian Basilica complex as a significant global monument in 1997.
