Da Nang - A New Vietnam amid Blue Waters and Majestic Sights

Da Nang

Da Nang is the best example of how Vietnam is growing. It has become a sparkling modern destination with apartments, theme parks, and brand-new resorts. But the city's former charm is still there, with its laid-back, friendly locals and incredible street food. After filling up on My Quang and Ban Mi Ba Lang, explore the stalactites and Buddhist caves of the Marble Mountains. Escape to the surreal mountain resort of Ba Na Hills, where the majestic Golden Bridge and palm trees greet you.

Best time to visit: Feb-To-May
Things to do: Walk On The Golden Bridge, Sun World Da Nang Wonders, Hot Springs Park, Love Lock Bridge

HOW TO REACH DA NANG

  • Flight - Da Nang International Airport is the non-busiest of Vietnam's three international airports. In addition to frequent flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, there are domestic flights between Bang Ma Thuot, Haiphong, Dalat, Pleiku and Nha Trang. There are international flights from Guangzhou, Taipei, Seoul-Incheon, Kuala Lumpur, Siem Reap, Singapore, Shanghai-Pudong, Tokyo-Narita. The airport is just a stone's throw from the center of Da Nang, 3 km southwest of the city.
  • Rail - Reunification Express has a stop at Da Nang. It is recommended to arrive in Da Nang during the day as there are many transport options, but at night you will be at the mercy of the rest of the transport options. Also note that train times are loosely adhered to.
  • Road - The popular Shin Cafe bus service stops in Hoi An, about 30 kilometers from Da Nang. From there you can take a taxi or motorbike into town, but due to the distance, taxis are safer. There is also a local bus from Hoi An to Da Nang.

HOW TO GET AROUND

  • Motorbike - This is the most convenient method. You can have the rental company bring your bike to the airport. Remember to check your vehicle carefully before renting it to avoid unnecessary collisions.
  • Bus - It is also convenient to travel between Da Nang locations by bus. Especially since it's only 5,000 VND. Buses are the cheapest way to travel, but they take a little longer and require more effort (travel and waiting for the bus) than other modes.
  • Taxi - Grab or a taxi are affordable and convenient options for getting around Da Nang. This will save you some money compared to taxis. All you have to do is prepare the app on your smartphone before your trip. The main drawback to consider is that these apps require an internet or data connection. So, consider your mobile data plan before visiting Vietnam. Exact details of pick-up and drop-off locations must be provided to avoid misunderstandings. Additionally, Grab accepts credit card payments.
  • Rental - If you would like to take a day trip outside of Da Nang or a specific tourist attraction, please ask your accommodation if they can arrange a private car for you. You can also negotiate the price with the operator and discuss your desired day trip, which should be around VND 12,000 per km. It can change according to your location/destination.
