HOW TO REACH CANCUN
- Flight - Second among Mexico's busiest airports is Cancun International Airport. The best feature of the Cancun international airport is that it is well connected to the world's major countries and serves most major air carriers. Airlines fly in from Mexico City, Central America, the United States, Canada, South America, Cuba, Europe, and Russia.
HOW TO GET AROUND
- Local Bus - To get to the downtown areas of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Mérida for a lower price, regular, dependable bus service is available right outside the airport terminals. The bus to downtown Cancun is just under $5.
- Taxi - When you arrive at the airport, taxis are readily available, and drivers will yell loudly to get your attention and business. Feel free to use the Uber app, as it will offer lower rates than local taxis, but don't expect a driver to be available at all times.
- Rental - Cancun is home to almost all of the world's rental car companies. If you prefer to have the freedom to explore the location, this can be a great option. However, keep in mind that costs can add up quickly.
- Tren Maya - The "Maya Train," or "Tren Maya," will have three routes. One will run south from Cancun through the Riviera Maya; another will run from Cancun to Mérida, stopping at Chichén Itzá; and a third will run from southern Quintana Roo to Campeche, stopping at the Calakmul Mayan ruins.
