Posting a picture with her moist eyes on the social media platform Instagram, she wrote, "What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, & my yet-to-come to our world, little baby! My baby & I had our fair share of challenges, be it both physical & emotional. The rollercoaster of pregnancy is tough on its own, but having to fight to keep the balance of life & sports was nothing short of strenuous, however worth it. I’m writing this post to say that pride fills my being for securing my place in the round of 16!"

Who is Nada Hafez?
Nada Hafez is an Egyptian female fencer, who participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She has a degree in medicine and is a former gymnast and three-time Olympian. She won gold medals in the individual and team events at the 2019 African Games. Hafez has been fencing since 2014.

In the Paris Olympics, she defeated the American fencer despite being 7 months pregnant. Though, Hafez lost to South Korea's Jeon Hayoung 15–7 in the last round, but her perseverance and will to fight at such a critical time in her pregnancy have been truly inspiring.
